Jaron Rose started playing golf at age 10 when his dad introduced him to the game at the nine-hole course near his hometown of Bluffs. After playing for a few years, Rose decided to get serious about golf. Now, he is a junior on Eastern's men's golf team and has played at a few area courses.

Tanning decreases after spring break

With spring break over and summer around the corner, tanning salons see a slight decrease in business. Tegan Strutzenberg, an employee at Tan Express, said a reason for the decline in students tanning is because of financial reasons. "Students don't want to spend much money towards the end of the year," she said.

Cover band to play Mattoon
