Hi everybody, I hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving, I know I am. In between phases of passing out after eating tons of turkey, watching football, and more napping I'll need to do something to fill up the rest of my time.
In addition to the above mentioned activities, I'll be catching up on schoolwork. This is something which shouldn't even be happening on a vacation.
One thing I will do best is get out to see all the new movies that are coming out over vacation. Sure there are a lot of big blockbusters coming out this vacation which are hoping to get all the money from families enjoying their vacation.
But while these movies are dominating the multiplex, I'd like to throw out a couple of suggestions for movies that are a bit overlooked and could stand a second viewing. The two movies on here descend from absurd comedy that will entertain families, to a thinking man's sci-fi. The sci-fi is for those who just want to watch an interesting movie in the same vein as "The Matrix." Finally on this list I will list of movie so soul-crushingly horrible it will destroy your faith in humanity, perfect for anybody who hates the holiday season.
First up is the film titled "Noises Off." This is my recommendation for a good film for families but it really has nothing to do with the holidays. People have seen every classic holiday movie and the new ones just don't measure up. This movie is an enjoyable, physical comedy about a director(Michael Caine) who is freaking out over the play he directed which is about to premiere on Broadway. He is freaking out because his cast is composed of a motley crew of actors like Christopher Reeve, Carol Burnett, and John Ritter who have been fighting with each other on and off the stage to the point where each show is too unbearable to watch. The film is told in flashback fashion to the first dress rehearsal all the way to the Broadway premiere. It is a hilarious comedy that mirrors theatrical performances and the cast pulls off joke with ease. A good film for the family to watch while the turkey settles.
