Give me a break

Spring Break, the two words that every college student loves to hear. Those two little words can mean so much.
You may choose to go on an alternative Spring Break and help those that are in need or you could choose to go home. There is a small population of college students that opt out of both options. These students-including myself-choose to go away for spring break.
We all know the hot spots for fun in the sun over spring break: Cancun, Acapulco, and Florida. But what do you do if those places are too expensive for you and your friends. You don't need to go to the hottest spots over spring break to have fun. Two words: road trip.
There are so many places one can go in a car, all you need is good tunes and a destination. This year my friends from home and I are going on a road trip down Route 66.
We came up with the idea last year after a few of our classmates decided one day that they wanted to just travel down Route 66. They got as far as Kansas before their parents noticed that they were gone for two days. This year it is our mission to travel as far down the historical highway until we have to turn around.
If you're kind of a dork like me, you may appreciate a trip like this. There are so many interesting diners and dives along the highway that you could go explore. A road-tripper may even find an interesting or strange site to see just off the road.
The one thing that I'm most looking forward to for this trip is the memories I'll make.
There's nothing better than jamming in the car with a few friends and nothing but road ahead.

There are many ways you could spend Spring break. I would have to agree with you the best way is to spend it with people you care about and making unforgetable memories. (Continued…)
