Everyone needs sleep. Yes, we all know this, but how much sleep is really enough. Stanford University claims students need more than eight hours of sleep to function properly. I decided to test this theory to see if it really made a difference. For one week, I would sleep for 10 hours or more a night (Eight seemed to easy) to see if someone can sleep too much.
Day 1 (10 hours of sleep):
So it has been one day since I started my experiment. The first night was easy. It actually felt like I had slept-in for once. I felt well rested, energetic and even a little hyper during the day. It was a great feeling, yet I am unsure whether it will be these easy tonight.
Day 2 (11 hours):
I slept for 11 hours. Wow. That is so much more than the normal six I normally get. I feel great. I got right out of bed this morning and got ready to leave. Normally, I want to stay in bed and hit my snooze button, but today I didn't have to. My mood has even changed. I feel happier than I usually do and ready for the day. I can really get used to this.
Day 3 (9 ½ hours):
Ok, last night was a little harder. I could not seem to fall asleep as easy as the first two nights. It could be the fact I am not used to getting this much sleep a night let alone a few nights in a row. However, it could have been from the noise on my floor last night that caused me to have troubles getting to sleep. It can get noisy on a dorm floor.
Day 4 (10 hours):
I'm still feeling pretty good. Though I did have strange dreams last night where my alarm didn't go off and I missed a class. Sleep must really be on my mind if I'm dreaming that.
Day 5 (11 hours):
Today, I woke-up feeling a little drowsy. I had the feeling I had slept a little too long last night. My head felt a little funny. It took me awhile after I woke-up to get that feeling of energy back. I did finally get it though and had the good feeling of being well rested.
Day 6 (9 hours):
